When I was little, my mom would make plates full of this Beer Battered Pork and before she was able to get it on the table, all of us kids would steal it from the cooling plate.

She would be so mad, but I think deep down, she felt good that we liked it so much that we would risk third-degree burns by stealing it.

You can use boneless chicken pieces you prefer. I have used vegetables, Onion rings, and shrimp, and I love them all.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork shoulder, cut in 2" inch pieces
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup beer

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients except pork.

  2. mix until all ingredients are combined into semi-thick batter.

  3. add the pork to the batter, five or six pieces at a time. Take care to coat each piece with batter.

  4. Carefully add the battered pork to a deep fryer or a pot of oil set at 375 degrees. Do not crowd the pan.

  5. Fry until puffed up and a golden brown. Using a food thermometer, the internal temperature must be at least 145 degrees.

  6. Drain on paper towels. Dip in my Garlic Aioli Sauce and enjoy!
