Mildred’s Amazing Chocolate Chip Cookies

Mildred’s Amazing Chocolate Chip Cookies

Most people already have their favorite recipe for chocolate chip cookies. That doesn’t seem to stop us food bloggers from posting hundreds of new recipes every year. My recipe is an original, I did not change one single thing, I guess you can say that it is old; it belonged to Mildred Cooksey, and I also belonged to Mildred for she was my grandmother.

Mildred's Chocochip Cookies

Grandma would bake these delicious, always moist cookies before us grandkids would visit. She would hide them around her house. We would run through her home in search of these little treats. It was like our personalized Easter egg hunt.

I have always heard that smells and tastes can trigger a memory. That is precisely what these chocolate chip cookies do for me. One bite and I am 8 years old standing in her old farmhouse. I wish you could have known her. I’m sure she would have hidden a few of these cookies for you too.
