Chef Boyardee Style Pizza Sauce
Let’s be honest. If you grew up on Chef Boyardee Pizza Kits, then as an adult, you still love that tangy, cheesy sauce. But, do you remember the cheese packet? It’s anybody’s guess what was really in those packets, but the result was delicious.
These days the Pizza business is a billion-dollar industry, and everybody is a connoisseur. So, if you ask around about Chef Boyardee, you will not find a lot of believers. But they are out there, trust me.
I make a lot of pizza at home, and I have finally nailed the crust. It is light, buttery, and perfect. The sauce, on the other hand, has been more difficult for me to figure out.
After several tries, I have settled on this recipe. It is the closest I have tasted that compares to Chef Boyardee. It is kind of sweet, tangy, and packed with parmesan cheese.
I hope you try this sauce. The good news is that even though it tastes like the “Chef” made it; it will be our little secret! Enjoy!

We tried this and it was delicious – tasted just like Chef Boyardee’s! So glad to have found this recipe because the store bought pizza sauce didn’t cut it. Don’t know why stores stopped selling the Chef Boyardee Pizza Maker Kits but I’m glad I have this wonderful recipe to make it myself! Thanks Doug!
Where’s the recipe for the pizza dough? I can’t wait to try this!
Do you use fresh grated parmesan cheese, or the kind already made, like Kraft in the green container? Thank you!
