Marshmallow Stuffed Brownies with Sea Salt Flakes

This sinful brownie will have everyone begging for the recipe. These stuffed brownies are easier to cut if they are chilled in the refrigerator.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 Cups Granulated Sugar
  • 1 1/4 Cups Unsalted Butter 2 1/2 sticks
  • 1 3/4 Cups Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 4 Large Eggs
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 16 Ounces Marshmallow Fluff or 16 oz mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees and prepare a 9x9 baking pan by lining with aluminum foil with 3 or 4 inches hanging over the front and back. Spray foil with cooking spray.
  2. Place sugar, butter, cocoa, and salt in a microwave-safe bowl.

  3. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until completely melted.

  4. Add eggs one at a time, stirring after each one added.

  5. Stir in flour, followed by vanilla.

  6. Incorporate all ingredients, spread evenly in the prepared pan.

  7. Bake 45-60 mins or when an inserted toothpick comes out with just a few crumbs, Take care not to overbake.

  8. Remove from the oven and immediately spoon heaping tablespoons of marshmallow fluff in rows ( this helps to spread evenly once the fluff melts) let sit for five minutes.

  9. Using a rubber spatula that has been by sitting in a bowl of hot water (wipe dry before spreading) spread the marshmallow fluff evenly over the brownies.

  10. Cool in the pan for an hour on a rack before moving to the refrigerator for two hours, allowing the fluff to set up
  11. Meanwhile, prepare our recipe for Incredible Chocolate Buttercream Frosting,

  12. After an hour, remove brownies from refrigerator and spoon on freshly made frosting  (see our recipe for the best Chocolate Buttercream Frosting) spreading an even layer, then, sprinkle liberally with sea salt flakes.
